Back in 1994, a young, 22-year-old man named Christian von Koenigsegg had a major dream, and he wanted to pursue it: to produce a world-class sports car. As a result, he launched Koenigsegg Automotive AB.
Koenigsegg: The Beginnings
The Koenigsegg-labeled concept vehicle, Koenigsegg CC, came about two years after the company’s foundation. Drivers were fascinated after they took it for a test, including Calle Rosenblad, Rickard Rydell, and Picko Troberg. At that point, the brand needed to be introduced to possible buyers the world over.
The Cannes Film Festival became the chosen location for this, which gave the car major traction and public interest.
Just a few years later, the first Koenigsegg CC8S then made a major debut at the biggest motor shows the world over, including Geneva and Paris. In 2002, Christian finally saw his dream come true. The Koenigsegg CC8S’s engine was certified that same year by Guinness World Records.
What was the certification? The most powerful engine in a mass-produced car—in the whole world!
The Koenigsegg CCR
This next model had an improved body design, with an improved chassis and suspension settings. It also came with:
- Larger brakes
- Larger front splitter
- Larger tires
- Larger wheels
- Rear spoiler
There’s a powerful engine on the CC8S with dual superchargers, giving the vehicle a stunning 655 horsepower (hp) and earning it a world record.
Given all those improvements, the 2002 record of the CC8S was broken by the Koenigsegg CCR. It was equipped with a better-improved engine, adding over 150 hp for a total output of around 806 hp. The Guinness World Record was then set in 2004 for the most powerful production car in the world.
After those awards, the company went on to create cars rooted in excellence. Proof of these are the launches of models such as:
- The Agera
- The CCGT
- The CCX
- The CCXR
- The CCXR Edition
- The CCXR Trevita
Constant improvements were necessary at that point. The Koenigsegg Agera RS set five new world records for a production vehicle in November of 2017. The Agera RS got the highest top speed for a production vehicle in the same year.
One of the best improvements that can be made to a Koenigsegg vehicle by the driver or owner is customization. A great way to go about it is by getting colored seat belts!
What’s a Color Seat Belt?
For classic cars, finding nicer material for seat belts that reflects the period can help maintain authenticity, but higher-quality safety belts may also be a goal in itself. Custom seat belts can actually be more comfortable than factory belts!
Color seat belts can be had in any color, including customized ones! The selection of shades includes:
- Blue
- Ferrari Red
- Gold
- Green
- Orange
- Pink
- Yellow
The process in itself isn’t complicated at all, either. It’s just a matter of picking a seat belt color, removing the seat belts, mailing them in, and waiting a mere 24 hours to get them back in the new color—OEM tags re-stitched!
Conclusion
Koenigsegg is an automobile manufacturer that’s been wowing the world since its inception. Key models include the CCR and Agera. Color seat belts are a great way to customize the vehicle!
